Authorities have initiated a murder investigation following the discovery of a young woman’s body in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh. The victim was reported to be in her twenties. The inquiry began after police responded to a collision on Carn Road, Tempo, at approximately 21:15 GMT on Saturday.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a grey vehicle whose driver had already left. Subsequent checks led them to a residence on Corban Avenue, where the deceased woman was located. In connection with the incident, a 45-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and related offenses.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Robinson of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) emphasized that detectives are actively investigating the circumstances behind the woman’s death. He has appealed for witnesses, particularly those who traveled along Cornagrade Road into Corban Avenue between 18:30 and 22:45 GMT on the day, to come forward with any information or observations that might aid the inquiry.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Commander, Superintendent Pete Cunningham, expressed his condolences to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time. He also reassured the community that the investigation is proceeding swiftly, urging the public to avoid speculation.
