Death of ‘Lip King’ closes Alice Webb BBL investigation

An inquiry into the suspected manslaughter of Alice Webb, a mother of five, has been halted following the death of a key suspect. Webb, aged 33, passed away on 24 September 2024 after experiencing serious complications shortly after undergoing a non-surgical Brazilian butt lift (BBL) procedure. Gloucestershire Police led the initial investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Earlier reports revealed that Jordan James Parke, 34, who had gained notoriety as the “British Lip King,” was arrested in connection with the case but was not formally charged. Recent information confirms that Parke died on Wednesday, prompting authorities to close the criminal investigation. Despite this, police have stated that inquiries will persist on behalf of the coroner, with inquests planned for both Webb and Parke.

In addition to Parke’s arrest, another woman was detained on suspicion of manslaughter but was subsequently released without any further legal action. Parke had been out on police bail before his passing, with no charge filed against him. Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Police reported that two individuals were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter following Parke’s unexplained death in London. There are suggestions he may have undergone a cosmetic procedure prior to his death, which remains under investigation.

A Gloucestershire Police spokesperson commented on the situation, explaining that the death of the suspect meant no charges could be pursued, leading to the closure of the criminal case. The spokesperson also expressed that Alice Webb’s family has been kept informed and hopes the upcoming inquest will provide the answers they seek. Webb’s treatment involved a non-surgical BBL, a cosmetic procedure intended to enhance the appearance of the buttocks by injecting dermal fillers, distinct from surgical BBLs that involve implants or fat transfer
