Sign up for this year’s green bin collections

Starting today, Monday 23 February, the fortnightly collection of green bins resumes, and residents who have not yet registered are encouraged to do so. This service operates annually from the last week of February through to the final week of November.

The cost for the upcoming year remains unchanged at £50, which breaks down to just £2.50 per collection. Discounts are available for households that pay for multiple bins, with a maximum of five bins per household eligible for the service.

Subscribers to the green bin program can dispose of garden waste including grass clippings, dead plants, leaves, and small branches, all of which are collected for recycling. Instead of being sent for incineration, this organic material is taken to a specialized recycling facility where it is processed and transformed into compost.

Current participants will receive a reminder to renew their subscription and pay the annual fee before their 12-month period concludes. Those interested in signing up or seeking further details about the green bin collection service can do so via the local council’s website
