Liverpool currently boasts 11 Family Hubs scattered throughout the city, as the local council works toward establishing one in each neighbourhood. This year alone, five new hubs have been inaugurated, expanding on the six that were already in operation. These centres serve as vital support points for families with children and young people from birth up to age 19, or up to 25 for those with special educational needs or disabilities.
Originating from the foundation of Liverpool’s well-established Children’s Centres, Family Hubs provide coordinated services, information, advice, and various activities aimed at supporting families. The hubs are located in areas such as Clubmoor, Fountains, Granby, Picton, Speke, Stoneycroft, Fazakerley, Kensington, Belle Vale, Wavertree, and Dovedale. Once all hubs are fully operational, Liverpool will have effectively doubled its provision, ensuring every community has convenient access to these resources.
Previously, Liverpool had only five Family Hubs, but the council’s ongoing plans aim to increase this number to twelve, thereby making these services available across more neighbourhoods. This expansion is designed to bring support closer to home for families throughout the city.
