Authorities have taken a man into custody following the discovery of two teenagers who were found deceased at a holiday park in East Yorkshire. The incident unfolded at Little Eden Holiday Park near Bridlington, prompting a police response on Wednesday after concerns for safety were raised.
Humberside Police confirmed that the victims—a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy—were located inside a rental unit at the site. A 33-year-old man is currently being held on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter as the investigation progresses.
Chief Superintendent Matt Peach provided some insight into the ongoing inquiries, explaining, “Whilst we are in the very early stages and the deaths at this time remain unexplained, we are exploring the possibility that they may be connected to carbon monoxide poisoning, with further inquiries continuing.” He also noted that emergency services, along with partner organizations, have visited other accommodations within the park to deliver advice, support, and guidance to ensure the well-being of all residents.
Peach emphasized the emotional weight of the situation, stating, “This is incredibly distressing and heartbreaking for the families of the teenagers involved, and they are at the forefront of our minds and actions.” He further appealed for the public’s understanding, asking people to avoid speculation and to respect the families’ privacy. An increased police presence remains at the site, and a cordon has been established as the investigation is ongoing
