Belfast: Man appears in court charged with murder of Ahmed Abdi

A 32-year-old man has been charged with murder and appeared in court in Belfast. Isaac Koko, who lives on Cromwell Road in the city, stands accused of killing 33-year-old Ahmed Abdi.

Authorities discovered the victim on Wednesday after receiving a concern for safety report. During his appearance at Belfast Magistrates Court, Koko, originally from Sudan, confirmed his identity and acknowledged the charge but did not make any further comment.

In police interviews conducted over two days, a detective informed the court that Koko denied involvement in the crime. He claimed he acted in self-defence and stated that both he and Abdi had consumed significant amounts of alcohol on the day in question.

No bail application was made, and the case is scheduled to return to court on 10 March for further proceedings
