Starting this weekend, exclusive guided tours of the Cunard Building, one of Liverpool’s renowned Three Graces, will be available once more. After a successful limited engagement in late 2025, this Grade II* listed structure will welcome visitors back from Sunday, 15 February, for an extended run of heritage tours.
These tours, which will continue through to the end of May, take place on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Tickets are priced at £15 each, with groups capped at 15 participants to maintain an intimate experience. Participants will have the unique chance to explore parts of the Cunard Building that are usually off-limits to the public. Among these areas are the historic basement—once a lively center of operations—the atmospheric former Arrivals Lounge, and the elegant Board Rooms that played a key role during the golden age of transatlantic travel.
Throughout the visit, attendees will uncover fascinating stories related to shipping legends, appreciate various architectural details, and learn about the building’s significant contribution to Liverpool’s global maritime heritage. Those interested in booking or seeking further details can find more information online. Additionally, private tours can be arranged upon request by contacting Heritage@liverpool.gov.uk.
Councillor Harry Doyle, Liverpool City Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Culture, expressed enthusiasm about the tours, saying, “This is an incredible opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at one of Liverpool’s most important landmarks. The Three Graces form an iconic part of our world-famous skyline, and the Cunard Building has its own unique story to tell. These tours offer a rare chance to discover more about this vital part of our city’s history.” Alan Smith, Head of Heritage in Liverpool, also remarked, “We are thrilled to invite the public inside one of Liverpool’s most historically significant buildings again, following a successful limited run of tours last year. The Cunard Building is an icon of our waterfront, and these tours offer a rare opportunity to explore its hidden spaces, learn about its remarkable story, and experience the legacy of the Cunard Line in a completely new way. We’re proud to open our doors once again and share this important heritage with the city.”
