A 13-year-old boy has been formally charged with attempted murder following a stabbing incident involving two boys, aged 12 and 13, at a school located in north-west London. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the teenager, whose identity is protected due to legal restrictions, faces additional charges including possession of a knife on school premises and using an insect spray against another pupil.
The event took place during lunchtime at Kingsbury High School in Brent on Tuesday. Fortunately, the two boys who sustained stab wounds are currently in stable condition in hospital, according to authorities. Detective Chief Superintendent Helen Flanagan described the situation as “extremely serious against a young boy” and emphasized the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Det Ch Supt Flanagan also conveyed continued support for those affected, stating, “We continue to support the victims and their families, as well as the wider school community following this shocking incident.” She mentioned that police efforts are ongoing, with detectives conducting further inquiries in the local area while working closely with Brent’s local policing teams. Appreciation was extended to both the school and surrounding community for their cooperation during this challenging time.
The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that prosecutors had thoroughly reviewed the case and agreed that there was “sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it was in the public interest to pursue criminal proceedings.” The 13-year-old is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court shortly.
