Amy-Jade Hughes, a 27-year-old mother of two from Rotherham, was preparing to start a new chapter of her life in Australia with her family. She had already completed the legal sale of her home in Worksop, where the purchase money had been received. However, she soon discovered that the mortgage on the property had not been paid off due to the sudden closure of PM Law, a Sheffield-based legal firm that specialised in personal injury, wills, and conveyancing. As a result, Amy-Jade and her family remain responsible for nearly £100,000 in debt, forcing them to stay with her parents while plans for the move are put on hold.

Meanwhile, Katie Brown from Staffordshire described the physical toll the stress has taken on her health after she missed a scheduled operation due to high blood pressure and infection markers. Katie and her partner, who had paid over £49,000 toward purchasing a house through PM Law’s services, found themselves unable to complete their transaction or move into their new home as the funds had not been transferred.
Micah Williams in Braintree, Essex, is also suffering due to the firm’s closure, as her planned house sale faces
