Documents newly released by the US Department of Justice reveal that Sarah Ferguson maintained contact with Jeffrey Epstein while he was imprisoned for soliciting sex from a minor. These communications primarily concern her venture, Mothers Army, where Ferguson sought Epstein’s advice on establishing the organization.
Mothers Army, registered to Sarah Margaret Ferguson at Royal Lodge, Windsor Great Park, is described as a company aimed at amplifying mothers’ voices globally. One email from June 2009, sent shortly before Epstein’s release from prison, has Ferguson asking for guidance on commercializing the business. Shortly after, she reports positive feedback from a meeting with the First Lady, expressing plans to call Epstein.
The documents further show a close association between Ferguson and Epstein post-incarceration. In 2011, Epstein assured Ferguson that Mothers Army was entirely hers, discussing the logistics of officially transferring control while expressing caution about the transaction. Correspondence indicates that just days after Epstein’s release, Ferguson arranged travel from London to Epstein’s homes in Miami and New York, accompanied by assistants and her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Emails detail a lunch at Epstein’s Palm Beach residence on 27 July 2009, including arrangements for transportation – with Ferguson declining Epstein’s offer of a lift in favor of cars provided by Philip – and meal options such as vegetable lasagna prepared by a Parisian chef. At that time, Eugenie was 19 and Beatrice was 21. The records suggest multiple additional meetings throughout 2009. While Epstein was under house arrest following his prison sentence, ending in summer 2010, these interactions highlight a sustained connection between him and Ferguson.
Among other revelations in the Epstein files are images of Ferguson’s ex-husband, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, in an awkward situation alongside other controversial family disclosures. In one email, Ferguson congratulates Epstein on the birth of a son but also accuses him of befriending her solely to gain access to Andrew. Another message appears to comment on Eugenie’s personal life. Both Mountbatten-Windsor and Ferguson’s representatives have been contacted for comment, with Mountbatten-Windsor denying any wrongdoing.
The BBC has reached out to Sarah Ferguson for her response, emphasizing that appearing in the Epstein documents does not imply involvement in any criminal activity
