Richmond: Armed burglars raid Gregory & Co jewellers in daytime break-in

In broad daylight, a group of burglars armed with hammers targeted a jewellers’ shop in west London, breaking the front window and making off with several items despite the efforts of the staff to intervene. The incident occurred at Gregory & Co jewellers, located in Richmond, and was captured on video that rapidly spread across social media platforms.

The footage reveals two individuals, both masked and wearing hooded clothing, striking the store’s window with a hammer until it shattered. Meanwhile, one staff member attempted to fend them off by waving a small box, while another tried to secure the items by pulling them back into the store. The suspects fled the scene heading towards Richmond Green following the robbery.

The Metropolitan Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the event or has relevant information to come forward. The burglary took place at approximately 10:30 GMT on Saturday in Paved Court, a quaint, cobblestone pedestrian street known for its boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants. Officers are treating the crime as an aggravated burglary, but so far, no arrests have been reported.

Gregory & Co’s location in Paved Court has also gained attention as a filming spot for the popular Apple TV series Ted Lasso. After the raid, the shop’s large left window was boarded up, marking the aftermath of this brazen daytime crime in a usually serene shopping area
