Arrests after youth pictured with machete in central Edinburgh

In Edinburgh city centre, two teenage boys were taken into custody following reports of individuals carrying bladed weapons. The incident occurred after witnesses alerted authorities to the presence of such weapons in the area.

A striking image captured on Rose Street showed a young man holding what appeared to be a large machete, walking past other pedestrians. This raised immediate concerns among the public and prompted a swift response from law enforcement.

Police, including officers trained in firearms, arrived at the scene around 2:55 pm on Friday. They subsequently arrested two male teenagers, aged 17 and 15, in connection with the incident. There were no reports of any injuries resulting from the event.
