Authorities have charged two men following the discovery of cannabis valued at approximately £24 million, marking one of the largest drug busts in the UK. The substantial quantity of the illegal substance, amounting to two tonnes, was uncovered at a farm property in Blackrod, Bolton, last Friday, according to Greater Manchester Police.

The individuals implicated are Musa Kala, 35, residing on Dunbar Drive, and Raheem Latif, 27, from Leverhulme Avenue, both located in Bolton. They face charges of conspiracy to supply cannabis. Both suspects have been placed in custody ahead of a scheduled court appearance.

They are set to appear at Manchester City Magistrates’ Court on Monday to answer the charges brought against them. The case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to address the supply of controlled substances at a significant scale.

Detective Superintendent Joe Harrop commented on the operation, stating that the seizure “removes a major source of harm, disrupts criminal networks and helps make neighbourhoods safer.” This development is seen as a critical move in combating illegal drug trade and enhancing community safety
