Newly released CCTV footage appears to capture a convicted murderer walking through city streets just days after escaping from prison. The images are part of an ongoing effort to locate the three men who failed to return to HMP Leyhill in South Gloucestershire on New Year’s Day.
The surveillance footage shows two of the escapees, Daniel Washbourne, aged 40, and Matthew Armstrong, aged 35, spotted in Bristol on January 3rd and 4th. Both men are known to authorities, with Armstrong serving time for murder. Meanwhile, the third individual, Aaron Thomas, 39, voluntarily surrendered to police on Thursday and subsequently appeared in court on Monday.
Avon and Somerset Police have reported multiple sightings of the fugitives but acknowledge that they might have left the local area. Authorities continue their search, emphasizing the likelihood that the men may no longer be in the vicinity.
The investigation remains active as officials work to track down Washbourne and Armstrong, while Thomas faces the judicial process after his arrest. Police have appealed to the public for any information that could assist in locating the remaining escapees
