A 23-year-old man lost his life after being fatally stabbed on New Year’s Eve in southeast London, prompting police to launch a murder investigation. The incident took place on Grove Street in Deptford, where emergency services were alerted at around 12:30 GMT. Upon arriving, officers discovered the victim with a knife wound to his chest.
Paramedics provided medical treatment at the scene, but despite their efforts, the man died shortly afterwards, according to the Metropolitan Police. Currently, no suspects have been apprehended, and authorities have established a crime scene to gather evidence.
Detective Chief Inspector Sam Townsend expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the victim’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.” He also emphasized that the inquiry is moving quickly to uncover all details related to the tragic event.
