In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a tragic fire occurred at a residence located in Glenboi, Mountain Ash, resulting in the death of one person. The South Wales Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident around 01:40 GMT, arriving at the scene to combat the blaze.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked diligently to bring the fire under control. Meanwhile, South Wales Police took measures to secure the area by closing nearby roads and evacuating residents from homes close to the affected property to ensure their safety.
Currently, a collaborative investigation involving South Wales Police, South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, and Rhondda Cynon Taff Council is ongoing to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the fire. Due to these investigative efforts, the road in Glenboi where the incident occurred remains closed for the foreseeable future.
