Claudia Winkleman, known for her work on The Traitors and as a former host of Strictly Come Dancing, is set to lead her own chat show on BBC One and iPlayer, scheduled for spring 2026. This development, recently confirmed by the BBC following industry speculation, reveals that the program will be produced by So Television, the same company responsible for Graham Norton’s acclaimed chat show.
Expressing her excitement about the new opportunity, Winkleman said, “I can’t quite believe it and I’m incredibly grateful to the BBC for this amazing opportunity. I’m obviously going to be awful, that goes without saying, but I’m over the moon they’re letting me try.” This announcement comes after she stepped down from her long-standing co-hosting role alongside Tess Daly on Strictly Come Dancing, where they worked together for over ten years.
The forthcoming chat show aims to feature prominent figures from film, television, music, and other areas, engaging in energetic conversations before a live studio audience, according to the BBC. Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC’s head of entertainment commissioning, praised Winkleman as “a true national treasure – warm, witty and endlessly entertaining,” highlighting her talent for making guests feel comfortable and drawing out their best qualities, whether they are celebrities or audience members.
Graham Stuart, managing director of So Television, expressed confidence that Winkleman could continue the tradition established by Graham Norton by making the Friday night talk show a must-watch event. He remarked, “How can you possibly follow that? By booking a host equally as brilliant. So we have.” The BBC noted that more details, including the exact broadcast schedule, will be provided at a later date
