Emergency responders were called to Aberdeen Airport following an incident involving a Loganair flight scheduled to depart for Dublin. The flight, operated by an ATR 72 turboprop, experienced a technical issue that prevented it from taking off as planned at 10:05. Photographs from the event showed fire crews actively spraying water on the aircraft’s landing gear as a safety measure.
Passengers were safely disembarked from the plane and escorted to the terminal building. According to the airline, no injuries were reported in connection with the situation. Aberdeen Airport officials confirmed that fire services attended the scene as a routine precaution, and two other flights were redirected while normal airport operations were temporarily disrupted.
A Loganair spokesperson emphasized the airline’s commitment to safety, stating, “Safety is always our primary concern, and we thank the crew and the airport for their assistance.” The statement went on to explain that the aircraft will now be moved to the airline’s hangar for a more thorough inspection to determine the cause of the technical problem.
