Immigration arrests after 12 found in lorry in Essex

Twelve men have been detained on suspicion of immigration-related offences following reports of individuals found in the rear of a lorry. The incident took place on Edinburgh Way in Harlow, where police responded around 22:15 GMT on Friday evening.

Upon arrival, officers discovered eleven adult men along with one teenage boy inside the vehicle. Essex Police confirmed that both the individuals inside the lorry and its driver were apprehended during the operation.

A spokesperson from Essex Police stated, “The men, and the driver of the lorry, were all arrested and our enquiries are ongoing.” All those detained were taken into police custody as investigations continue.

The arrests come as part of ongoing efforts to address immigration violations in the area. Further inquiries are being conducted to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case
