During a victory parade in Liverpool, a man driven by intense anger deliberately rammed his vehicle into groups of football fans, resulting in widespread injuries and fears of a possible terror attack, a court revealed. The shocking incident involved Paul Doyle, 54, whose actions were captured on dashcam footage showing him accelerating into the crowd while shouting aggressively.
The video evidence, described as deeply disturbing by prosecutor Paul Greaney KC at Liverpool Crown Court, displayed Doyle calling people offensive names and demanding they move as he plowed through hundreds of supporters. Greaney characterized Doyle as a “man in a rage whose anger had completely taken hold of him,” highlighting how the former Royal Marine sped into the assembled fans, causing chaos and injury.
