The Metropolitan Police have announced that they will not be pursuing any further investigation into allegations that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor requested information about Virginia Giuffre from his police protection officer. These claims, initially brought to light by the Mail on Sunday in October, stated that the then-prince provided the officer with Ms. Giuffre’s date of birth and social security number shortly before the newspaper published a photograph featuring the two meeting in February 2011.
Following a renewed review of the case, the Metropolitan Police indicated on Saturday that no new evidence has been found to suggest criminal behaviour or misconduct. While Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has not publicly responded to these recent reports, he has consistently denied all accusations made against him.
A police spokesperson emphasized the force’s commitment to thoroughly investigating any new information that might assist the case. They explained that, so far, no further evidence has emerged to justify reopening the investigation. However, should credible information become available, including any material released from the United States, the Metropolitan Police would reassess the situation.
Virginia Giuffre, who tragically died earlier this year, had alleged that she was one of many girls sexually exploited by the convicted offender Jeffrey Epstein and his circle of influential associates. She also claimed that she was coerced into having sexual encounters with the then-Prince Andrew on three occasions, including when she was 17 years old at the London home of Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now serving a 20-year prison sentence on sex-trafficking charges connected to Epstein
