Police have confirmed that a man in his twenties was fatally stabbed in an alleyway adjacent to a pub in Surrey. The victim was discovered seriously wounded near the Wheatsheaf pub on Kingston Road, Ewell, around 15:30 GMT on Tuesday. Despite paramedics’ efforts to treat his injuries, he was declared dead shortly after their arrival.

Authorities are requesting anyone who was in the vicinity of Kingston Road between 15:20 and 15:30 on that day, or who may have captured footage related to the incident, to come forward with any information. This appeal is part of an ongoing effort to gather evidence and understand the circumstances that led to the man’s death.

Det Chief Inspector Kimball Edey, who is leading the investigation, addressed the local community by acknowledging their concern and patience throughout the inquiry. He stated, “I know there has been concern and speculation in the local community about the events of [Tuesday] afternoon, and I would like to thank residents for their patience and cooperation while we carry out our enquiries.” Edey also assured the public that officers are working diligently to uncover the facts surrounding the tragedy and mentioned that a heightened police presence would be maintained in the area for the coming days.

During the course of the investigation, Kingston Road and Chessington Road were temporarily closed but have now reopened to the public following the conclusion of initial police work. The investigation remains active as officers continue to pursue leads in bringing those responsible to justice
