A nursery worker in north London has confessed to sexually abusing children under his care. Vincent Chan, aged 45, appeared before Wood Green Crown Court where he admitted to 26 offenses. These charges include sexual assault by penetration, sexual assault by touching, and the creation of indecent images classified among the most serious forms of child sexual abuse.
The case against Chan began after a whistleblower alerted authorities, leading to what the Metropolitan Police described as one of their most “harrowing and complex” investigations. Chan resides on Stanhope Avenue in Finchley and is scheduled to be sentenced on 23 January.
Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford, who oversaw the probe, expressed the profound impact of the crimes, stating that they caused “deep shock and distress.” The police emphasized the seriousness of the offenses and the distress caused to victims and the community.
