Peter Kay to donate stand-up tour profits to 12 cancer charities

Comedian Peter Kay has revealed that all proceeds from his upcoming 2026 stand-up tour will be donated to a group of twelve cancer charities. The tour, titled Better Late Than Never, is set to kick off in December and will conclude at the AO Arena in Manchester the following August. Kay, who hails from Bolton and is 52 years old, shared his hopes for strong public support during an appearance on the One Show.

Kay emphasized the importance of the humanitarian cause behind the tour, stating, “Unfortunately, everybody knows someone who’s been affected on that list [of 12 charities], and I just hope people support it.” He also encouraged attendance regardless of personal opinions about his comedy, saying, “You don’t even have to like me to come, it goes beyond that, this is about supporting these charities,” and added humorously, “if it’s not funny, you’ll get your money back.”

The twelve beneficiaries of the tour’s profits include Children With Cancer UK, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kidney Cancer UK, Blood Cancer UK, Bowel Cancer UK, Prostate Cancer UK, DKMS UK, Ovarian Cancer Action, Pancreatic Cancer UK, Anthony Nolan, The Brain Tumour Charity, and Breast Cancer UK. Representatives from some of these organizations expressed their gratitude following the announcement.

Rachel Calderon, deputy director of fundraising at Blood Cancer UK, described the news as a “milestone” moment, explaining, “Everyone in the blood cancer community, whether they’re affected by leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma is genuinely chuffed and deeply grateful.” Dr Michele Afif, CEO of The Brain Tumour Charity, conveyed the charity’s “deepest gratitude” for Kay’s support, stating, “Including The Brain Tumour Charity as one of the charities benefitting from the proceeds of his 2026 tour, will be instrumental to us achieving much needed change for everyone we stand alongside. Thank you, Peter. From all of us.” Meanwhile, fans will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for nine newly added shows starting this Sunday
