Northamptonshire Police have announced that four officers will undergo misconduct proceedings concerning their response to allegations of abuse reported by a woman who was subsequently discovered dead. The woman, Harshita Brella, aged 24 and originally from Corby, was found in the boot of a car in Ilford, east London, approximately 100 miles from her hometown in November 2024.
Following an inquiry by the Independent Office for Police Conduct, Assistant Chief Constable Emma James confirmed that the misconduct proceedings against the officers are now in progress. She noted that due to the ongoing nature of these proceedings, it would be inappropriate for the police to provide further comment at this stage.
