Liverpool unveils its biggest-ever Christmas offer

Liverpool is preparing to shine more brilliantly than ever this holiday season with the announcement of its most extensive Christmas celebration yet. The city promises to be the premier destination for festive fun in 2025, featuring a wide array of events ranging from ice skating and Santa grottos to artisan markets and thrilling fairground attractions.

A highlight of the season will be the Liverpool Winter Festival, which is set to transform the iconic Pier Head from Saturday, 22 November through to Sunday, 4 January. This family-friendly festival offers an impressive lineup of activities, including a large ice rink measuring 18 by 30 meters, story time sessions and meet-and-greets with Santa, an elf village, adventure golf, children’s rides, exciting thrill experiences, and a snow globe photo spot. Festival-goers can also enjoy a variety of food and drink stalls. The Winter Festival will operate from 1:00 pm to 10:30 pm on weekdays and 11:00 am to 10:30 pm on weekends between 22 November and 19 December. From 20 December until 4 January, it will be open daily from 11:00 am to 10:30 pm, excluding Christmas Day when it will be closed.

In addition to the Winter Festival, the beloved Christmas Markets have returned to St. George’s Hall starting Saturday, 15 November, and will continue through Wednesday, 24 December. Open daily from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm—with a shorter schedule on Christmas Eve, closing by 5:00 pm—the markets provide visitors with an extensive selection of gifts, crafts, and festive treats. Visitors can also enjoy a giant Ferris wheel, a vintage carousel, Santa Land for children, a snow slide, an Alpine Bar, karaoke ski lifts, live performances, and a rich variety of holiday foods.

Liverpool’s festive spirit will also fill several of the city’s distinguished halls, including Liverpool Town Hall, Croxteth Hall, and St. George’s Hall. These venues will host an exciting range of events designed for families, music enthusiasts, and even pets. Visitors can look forward to candlelight concerts, Story Time with Santa, carol concerts, two silent discos (one tailored for children and another for adults), and a Santa Paws grotto for furry friends.
