A tragic incident in Australia resulted in the death of a British woman named Eleanor Thompson, as revealed by an inquest. Ms. Thompson, aged 35 and originally from Mold, Flintshire, passed away in March 2025 due to multiple injuries sustained after her campervan rolled off a driveway and crushed her while sliding down an incline. She had been living in the campervan since 2023, traveling alone in Australia.
The unfortunate event took place while Ms. Thompson was house-sitting for a friend in Burringbar, New South Wales. The inquest also revealed that she had been on an adventurous journey, first to Asia in 2022 before moving on to Australia in 2023. Planning to return to the UK later in the year when her visa expired, Ms. Thompson was described by her relatives as having an indomitable adventurous spirit. Her love for music and dance, as well as her previous encounters with notable personalities in the arts industry, were highlighted in a statement by her father, Peter, read out during the inquest
