The owner, Mohammed Siddique, 35, introduced this rule after observing groups of diners showing up in casual attire that he believed could potentially deter other patrons. The restaurant, which has been serving customers since 1988, holds a significant place in the town and Siddique aims to preserve its esteemed reputation by upholding certain standards.
According to Siddique, the establishment aims to maintain a certain level of sophistication, especially on evenings when many customers visit for special occasions. He expressed a desire for all guests to feel comfortable and enjoy an elevated dining experience without being distracted by others’ attire. Exceptions to the dress code may be made for individuals with disabilities who require more relaxed clothing, but prior approval from management is necessary. The owner believes that adhering to a smart dress standard helps create a pleasant atmosphere for all patrons.
“We want our guests to feel comfortable and not put off from eating here if they see customers wearing tracksuits, hoodies, and even balaclavas,” Siddique explained.
