Harry Pitman: Teen detained for murder at Primrose Hill NYE event

A young individual has been sentenced to at least 16 years in custody for the murder of 16-year-old Harry Pitman, who tragically lost his life after being stabbed in the neck during a New Year’s Eve fireworks display in north London. Areece Lloyd-Hall, now 18, faced conviction at the Old Bailey in October after a retrial resulted in a guilty verdict, following the first trial where jurors were unable to reach a decision. The incident occurred at Primrose Hill on December 31, 2023, when Harry accidentally collided with another boy while play-fighting and practicing martial arts moves, as disclosed during the trial.

Lloyd-Hall, hailing from Westminster, received a guilty verdict by a majority of 11 to one after close to eight hours of contemplation by the jurors. This outcome comes in addition to a prior conviction for possession of an offensive weapon.
