A man who was found guilty of killing two men and disposing of their remains in suitcases near Clifton Suspension Bridge has been sentenced to life in prison. Yostin Mosquera, 35, denied the murders but was convicted by a jury at Woolwich Crown Court. The judge, Justice Bennathan, sentenced Mosquera to a minimum of 40 years and 264 days, emphasizing that he may never be deemed safe for release.
The brutal crimes took place on July 11, 2024, and were described by the judge as “thoroughly wicked”. Despite the seriousness of the charges, Mosquera maintained a blank expression as he received his sentence. He later smiled and shook hands with his interpreter before being led away by authorities. Along with the murder charges, Mosquera also faced time for possessing indecent images of children, a separate crime for which he received an additional 16-month sentence.
