Liverpool’s libraries are joining in on Green Libraries Week 2025, which will run from October 27th to November 1st. This celebration is an annual event that focuses on libraries with an emphasis on climate and sustainability initiatives. The city’s six libraries will host a range of free events and activities during the half-term break, including craft workshops and interactive storytelling sessions.
The Allerton Library is offering a Bobbin Lacemaking Workshop for Children on Monday, October 27th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. To secure your spot, reach out to Elaine at 07751568882. Another interesting event at Allerton Library is the Spooky Pebble Painting on Wednesday, October 29th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Unfortunately, this event is already full. Additionally, on Saturday, November 1st, the library will hold a Story and Craft Class from 10:30 am to 11:30 am, with bookings available on the MadeByMe website.
Childwall Library’s schedule includes an Under 5s Storytelling session on Tuesday, October 28th from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. No reservation is needed for this event, simply drop in. On Wednesday, October 29th, the library will host Beastly Bugs with Colette Whittington from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm, again no booking required. Additionally, on Thursday, October 30th, there will be a Synchronised Storytelling Session with a ‘Plant-a-Poem’ Activity from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, no reservation necessary.
Kensington Library and Norris Green Library are also participating in Green Libraries Week with various engaging activities. Kensington Library will have a Synchronised Storytelling Session on Thursday, October 30th from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. Norris Green Library has a full schedule of events from Monday, October 27th to Saturday, November 1st, including activities like Handprint Tree and Decorate Paper Leaves, Eco-conscious Crafting, Painting Planters and Planting Seeds/Bulbs, Mushroom Planet Talk and Activity, and Puppet Crafternoon. All events at Norris Green Library are open for drop-ins, so no booking is required
