Manchester synagogue attack: Man hit by police bullet released

Yoni Finlay, a man who was struck by a police bullet during the response to the Manchester synagogue attack, has been discharged from the hospital. The incident took place on 2nd October when Jihad Al-Shamie, 35, attempted to enter the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation and Mr. Finlay, 39, was shot while helping barricade the doors.

According to Greater Manchester Police, Mr. Finlay has been released while two other men who were injured in the attack are still in the hospital in stable conditions. Andrew Franks was stabbed by Al-Shamie while providing security outside the synagogue, and another injured man, identified as a security guard named Bernard, was hit by Al-Shamie’s car.

Tragically, Melvin Cravitz, 66, and Adrian Daulby, 53, lost their lives during the attack on Yom Kippur, the most sacred day in the Jewish calendar. As the congregation observes the festivals of Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah at a different location, the synagogue building remains closed. It is a reminder of the devastating impact of such senseless violence on individuals and communities
