Tim Westwood, a former BBC Radio 1 and Capital Xtra DJ, has been charged by the Metropolitan Police with multiple counts of rape and indecent assault. The 68-year-old is facing four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault, related to allegations from seven women spanning from 1983 to 2016. The charges include instances of indecent assault and rape in various areas of London over the years.

Scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 10 November, Tim Westwood is accused of committing the offenses against women ranging from 17 to their 20s. The Chief Crown Prosecutor, Lionel Idan, emphasized the importance of respecting the ongoing criminal proceedings and ensuring no actions that could potentially influence the trial. Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are urging any additional witnesses to come forward and provide any relevant information regarding the case.
