Second man arrested over Peacehaven mosque arson attack

An arson attack on a mosque in East Sussex has led to the arrest of a second man. The incident occurred at the building in Phyllis Avenue, Peacehaven, with the fire causing extensive damage around 21:50 BST on a Saturday. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Following the attack, a 25-year-old man of no fixed address was taken into custody by the police on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. Additionally, a 46-year-old man from Littlehampton was also arrested on similar charges on Monday afternoon but has since been released on bail. The authorities are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cullimore emphasized the importance of community cooperation in identifying the culprits behind the attack.
