Sir Tony expressed optimism about the plan, stating that it represents the best opportunity to end the suffering and unrest that have plagued the region for the past two years.
Sir Tony, known for his role as the UK prime minister from 1997 to 2007 and his involvement in the Iraq War, has participated in high-level discussions with the US and other stakeholders regarding the future of Gaza. He previously served as the Middle East envoy for the Quartet of international powers, concentrating on advancing economic development in Palestine and laying the groundwork for a two-state solution.
In the proposal unveiled by Trump, the agreement would see an immediate cessation of hostilities once both sides agree. Additionally, it outlines the return of Israeli captives and detainees, delivery of aid to Gaza, deployment of a multinational security force, and the establishment of a transitional governing body overseen by the Board of Peace.
