While they are eco-friendly and cost-effective over time, they may require some practice to insert and remove, and can be messy to empty, especially in public restrooms.
Period pants, on the other hand, are like regular underwear but with built-in absorbent layers. They are reusable, making them eco-friendly, and can provide long-lasting protection of up to six to eight hours. However, they can be costly upfront and require washing and drying between uses. They may also not be absorbent enough for heavy flows.
Reusable pads, made from cotton or bamboo, are secure with poppers around your underwear. They are softer and more comfortable than plastic-based pads, offering a variety of sizes and absorbencies. While cost-effective and sustainable, they need to be washed after each use and may feel bulkier than disposable pads. They also require proper drying to reduce infection risks.
Lastly, disposable pads are the most commonly used period product, offering simplicity and different sizes. They are suitable for overnight use and beginners but may feel bulky or shift out of place. Though convenient, they can be environmentally harmful and expensive over time compared to reusable options.
