Additionally, Reform UK’s proposal from the previous month outlined intentions to deport 600,000 migrants over a five-year period if they were to win the next general election.
The cornerstone of Farage’s plan hinges on the implementation of a new legislation named the Illegal Migration (Mass Deportation) Bill. This bill would impose a legal obligation on the home secretary to eliminate illegal immigrants and bar deported individuals from re-entering the UK indefinitely. Moreover, it would override international agreements like the Refugee Convention.
When questioned about the feasibility of his plan, Farage referenced Australian policies where boats were towed back to Indonesia once the necessary legal framework was in place. He criticized other political parties for making promises they had no intention of fulfilling.
