New installation brings science to life in Liverpool

The upcoming British Science Festival in collaboration with Culture Liverpool is set to showcase an intriguing art piece called ‘Geist’ by This is Loop (artists Harriet Lumby and Alan Hayes) at Liverpool ONE from September 10 – September 14. This innovative sculpture will shed light on neutrinos, the enigmatic building blocks of the universe known as ‘ghost-particles’ due to their elusive nature and difficulty in detection. These particles, which are prevalent in the universe, have the unique ability to transform between three different types.

‘Geist’ is a captivating large-scale sculpture that offers viewers a glimpse into the world of reflection and light through an elaborate mirror illusion showcasing a suspended glowing orb.
