A horrific crash involving a driver high on cocaine and speeding at 134mph on the hard shoulder of a busy motorway resulted in severe injuries for two police officers. The incident took place on the M8 eastbound in Glasgow, where Dylan Hood crashed into an unmarked police vehicle as officers were dealing with another driver they had stopped. The collision, which involved a total of three cars, left one constable with brain injuries, and he has been unable to return to work for over a year since the accident.
During the proceedings at the High Court in Glasgow, Hood admitted to causing serious injury to a total of six people due to dangerous driving. It was revealed that Hood, who had an expired license at the time of the crash, fled the scene before being found outside a pub. Despite his reckless actions, Hood callously remarked to the police that “These things happen, mate,” showing a lack of remorse for the harm caused.
