The 20-year-hunt for double murder fugitive Kevin Parle

Jonny Humphries, a Liverpool man wanted in connection with two gunpoint executions, has managed to elude detectives for the past 20 years. Kevin Parle, also known as ‘Hemp’ or ‘Joseph’, has not been seen by police since 2004, despite reports suggesting he may have fled to Spain, Australia, or Dubai. Described as a white man of broad build with ginger hair, blue eyes, and a small scar on the left side of his head, Parle is considered one of Britain’s most wanted fugitives, with no credible leads emerging despite extensive campaigns, cash rewards, media coverage, and true-crime podcasts.

The murders that Parle is implicated in are characterized as “cold-blooded executions” involving shotgun blasts at close range. One of the victims, Lucy Hargreaves, a 22-year-old mother of three, was shot three times with a sawn-off shotgun while asleep on her couch in Walton, Liverpool. The perpetrators then set fire to the property, despite the presence of her two-year-old daughter upstairs. Parle was already a suspect in the murder of Liam Kelly, a 16-year-old boy who was fatally shot after a dispute over a £200 drug debt in Dingle in June 2004. Other individuals were charged in both cases, with Parle identified as the missing suspect during court proceedings.

Despite facing allegations in court, Tony Downes and Kirk Bradley were cleared of involvement in Lucy Hargreaves’ murder in 2007. Both individuals are currently serving lengthy prison sentences for unrelated crimes related to organized crime. Meanwhile, Anthony Campbell, who was involved in Liam Kelly’s shooting, pleaded guilty to arranging the attack, with Parle allegedly serving as the gunman. A £10,000 reward from Crimestoppers is being offered for information leading to the capture of Parle, who is now 45 years old, urging individuals with knowledge of his whereabouts to come forward and help bring closure to the victims’ families
