The appeal for the funeral of a young boy who tragically lost his life after being hit by a bus has garnered an overwhelming response, raising over £8,000 in just over a day. Zaahir Jan, a four-year-old, met with the fatal accident outside the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent, at around 16:00 BST on Thursday. The little boy was at the hospital visiting his grandmother when the unfortunate incident occurred. Navid Feizi, Zaahir’s father, expressed his heart-wrenching sorrow, stating that his son was the light of his life.
Describing Zaahir as a bright and charming boy, Mr. Feizi shared how the young boy always wanted to be by his side while he worked as a tyre fitter. His father expressed deep regret at not being present to prevent the tragic accident and issued a warning to other parents to closely supervise their children when they are out playing. Zaahir’s mother, Azaria, set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds for her son’s funeral. She lovingly remembered him as a sweet and funny boy with an infectious smile that could warm anyone’s heart.
Azaria poured her grief into the appeal, reminiscing about the times she shared with her beloved son and expressing disbelief at his sudden absence. She reflected on the loss of Zaahir’s smile, touch, and presence in their lives, but vowed to provide him with a dignified burial. Following the heartbreaking incident, family members, including Azaria, gathered outside the hospital where Zaahir breathed his last breath. They created a memorial space with blankets, flowers, sweets, and letters in honor of the young boy. Kent Police disclosed that Zaahir had left the hospital on foot before the fatal collision, and despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead shortly after. Authorities have urged anyone with pertinent information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation
