Oasis Edinburgh Murrayfield shows start during festival

Oasis has finally arrived in Edinburgh for their highly anticipated Murrayfield shows after a 16-year hiatus. The reunion tour will see Liam and Noel Gallagher perform together again in front of a Scottish crowd. The band is scheduled to perform for three nights at the arena on Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday, with an estimated 70,000 fans expected to fill the stadium each night. This could potentially set a new record for the largest stadium gig in Scottish history.

The gigs coincide with Edinburgh’s festival season, with the city’s population already nearly doubling over the month. However, it is clear that Oasis is the hottest ticket in town as fans eagerly await their long-awaited return. An official fan shop on George Street has seen thousands of customers since opening on Monday, even though a promotional car parked outside received a parking ticket as a display of Edinburgh hospitality.

Fans from all over the world are flocking to Edinburgh for the shows, with one couple traveling from the US after getting married in the city 22 years ago. They left their kids at home to attend what promises to be an unforgettable series of performances by the iconic band. Doors at Murrayfield open at 17:00 each day, with support provided by 90s indie stars Cast and Richard Ashcroft. Ticket holders are reminded to enter at specific points based on their ticket colors, and ScotRail has arranged extra late-night services for traveling fans.

The Murrayfield shows mark the fourth UK venue on Oasis’s reunion tour, with a symbolic return for the Gallagher brothers and guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs. These three are the only original band members signed to Creation Records in 1993 after being discovered at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow by record executive Alan McGee. The band’s last Scottish gig in 2009 came just two months before their split at the Rock En Seine festival in Paris, making their return to Scotland even more momentous for fans
