Burglars steal £500k of gold jewellery from Bromley home

A significant amount of valuable gold jewelry, worth around half a million pounds, was reported stolen from a residence in south-east London, according to the Metropolitan Police. The incident, which took place on December 30, 2024, at a property on Bickley Road in Bromley, has prompted authorities to share images of the stolen items in hopes of generating public awareness. Detective Constable Jamie White emphasized that while the financial loss was substantial, the sentimental value attached to some pieces, which held significance as cherished family heirlooms, was immeasurable.

Authorities are seeking any information regarding the whereabouts of three men who broke into the home through a bathroom window while the occupants were present. The burglars, who entered the premises at 17:40 GMT and departed approximately 45 minutes later, seized various items including necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and other ornamental objects. Detective Constable White noted that many of the pilfered jewelry items had been handed down through multiple generations within the family, adding to their emotional significance.

Due to the distinctive nature of several of the stolen pieces, law enforcement officials are optimistic that releasing photographs of the items will trigger memories or prompt individuals to come forward with potentially pertinent information. Despite ongoing efforts to locate the perpetrators, no arrests have been made as of yet, as per police authorities. The Metropolitan Police has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or information that could aid in recovering the stolen jewelry
