Talking parrot helps bring down Blackpool drugs gang

In Lancashire, a unique collaboration between a talking parrot and a criminal gang has led to the dismantling of a major drug operation. The parrot, named Mango, was taught phrases commonly used by drug dealers, such as “two for 25,” by a member of the gang. Police discovered Mango during a raid on homes in Blackpool, where they also seized large quantities of heroin and cocaine.

The mastermind behind the gang was identified as Adam Garnett, who managed the operation from within prison between 2023 and 2024. Upon searching his cell, authorities found incriminating evidence, including phones with videos showcasing drugs and his girlfriend’s parrot interacting with drug money. Garnett’s girlfriend, Shannon Hilton, along with Dalbir Sandhu and Jason Gerrand, were identified as key figures in the illicit enterprise. Hilton was seen in a video teaching Mango the drug-related phrase in front of a child.

Further investigations revealed that Sandhu kept detailed records of his dealings, including price lists and transactions. Despite being incarcerated, Garnett maintained communication with all members of the gang, demonstrating his significant influence. Other members of the gang, like Gareth Burgess, were found with videos glorifying their criminal activities, showcasing large sums of cash and rapping about their involvement.

Several gang members, including Garnett and Hilton, were sentenced to lengthy prison terms for their drug offenses. However, some members, like Chloe Stott and Ryan Black, failed to appear in court for sentencing and are now being sought by authorities. The police are determined to continue dismantling such criminal operations, whether they are conducted from behind bars or on the streets. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Stott and Black is urged to come forward to assist in their apprehension
