Tommy Robinson, a far-right activist, was recently taken into custody in connection with an assault at St Pancras railway station. While the British Transport Police did not specifically name Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, they did confirm that a 42-year-old man from Bedfordshire was arrested for an incident in London on July 28th. The arrest was made at Luton Airport shortly after 18:30 BST on Monday, following reports that the individual had arrived on a flight from Faro.
The man, suspected of grievous bodily harm, is set to be questioned by the police. Authorities had been seeking him for questioning after he left for Tenerife in the early hours of July 29th, subsequent to the reported incident. Last week, it was revealed by British Transport Police that the victim of the incident at King’s Cross railway station had suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the injured party had been discharged from the hospital.
Video footage circulating on social media depicted Robinson pacing near a motionless man on the floor, close to the staircase leading to the northbound Thameslink line. Notably, the video did not capture how the man came to be on the ground. In the clip, Robinson can be seen returning up the stairs, attempting to converse with a passing commuter who had called for assistance. Amidst all this, Robinson can be heard claiming, “He’s come at me bruv.”
Despite the incident, Robinson has maintained an active presence on his personal X account, refraining from commenting on his arrest. Following the initial statement issued by British Transport Police regarding the incident, Robinson shared a few supportive posts. The activist has been elusive thus far, avoiding any public statements about the arrest or the events that unfolded at St Pancras railway station
