A tragic incident occurred in County Tyrone, where one person lost their life in a car fire, as reported by the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI). The emergency services were quick to respond after being informed by the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) about the situation unfolding on Rylagh Road in Omagh at 14:05 BST on Saturday. Amidst efforts to extinguish the flames engulfing a Mitsubishi Lancer GS2, the fire service made the grim discovery of a body.
Following the discovery, the PSNI has launched an investigation and is treating the incident as a case of arson. Detective Inspector Keon, leading the enquiries, highlighted that they are currently trying to determine the circumstances that led the individual to be near the burning vehicle. Any individual who might have been in the vicinity between 12:00 and 14:15 on the day of the incident, or who noticed any suspicious activities, has been urged to come forward and assist with the investigation.
