A young boy, aged eight, was a victim of a disturbing incident while on a camping trip with his family in the Highlands. The assault took place at the Loch Ness Bay campsite in Drumnadrochit, during the early hours of Thursday. Police revealed that the perpetrator approached the child between midnight and 01:00, attacking him in the safety of his tent.
Authorities have described the suspect as a white male, believed to be between 40 to 50 years old, standing at around 5ft 10ins (1.78m) tall and bald. In response to the incident, extensive investigations are currently underway, with specialized officers providing support to the young victim and his family. Detective Inspector Christopher Macleod emphasized the urgency of apprehending the responsible individual, stressing the importance of any potential leads from the public.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward. If you were within the campsite or the surrounding area yesterday evening and noticed anything or anyone suspicious, please contact us,” stated Det Insp Macleod.
