Maguiresbridge: Service of removal for murder victims to be held

The funeral service for Vanessa Whyte and her children, Sara and James, who were all fatally shot in Maguiresbridge, will involve prayers at St. Mary’s Church before their remains are transported to County Clare for a funeral Mass on Saturday.

An announcement was made on Monday night regarding the funeral arrangements for Ms. Whyte and her children. The funeral directors took to social media to request attendees of the service of removal and funeral Mass to wear bright and cheerful colors in memory of the deceased. The funeral Mass will be held in Barefield, County Clare, which is Vanessa Whyte’s hometown.

Emergency services responded to the incident at the family’s home on Drummeer Road on July 23rd, where two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, and the third victim passed away later in the hospital. Following the tragedy, the Police Service of Northern Ireland revealed that a man from the same household was hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

Sara and James, who were students at Enniskillen Royal Grammar School and former students of Maguiresbridge Primary School, were mourned by a gathering of community members at a vigil held in the primary school’s grounds. Senior politicians and religious figures were present at the vigil, which included a minute of silence in remembrance of the victims
