After more than a decade of marriage, TV presenters Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty have announced that they are separating. The couple, who share two children, made a joint statement confirming their decision to end their marriage, emphasizing that there is no third party involved and asking for privacy during this time.
Cat Deeley, 48, is known for her hosting role on ITV’s This Morning, while Patrick Kielty, 54, hosts RTÉ’s The Late Late Show and presents on BBC Radio 5 Live. The couple tied the knot in a ceremony in Rome in September 2012. It was not until 12 years later, when Kielty made a spontaneous trip from Belfast to Los Angeles for Deeley’s birthday lunch, that their romantic connection deepened. The couple spent over 14 years in California, where Deeley gained fame as the host of the primetime talent show So You Think You Can Dance, before relocating to London in 2020.
Patrick Kielty, a Northern Irish presenter and comedian, started his career at a comedy club, The Empire Laughs Back, before moving on to host various television programs. Kielty has also delved into documentaries about The Troubles, including a BBC program recounting his father’s tragic death at the hands of paramilitary gunmen. While Deeley’s career soared in the US, Kielty took on the role of hosting RTÉ One’s The Late Late Show in 2023
