The search for a missing mother, Rachel Booth, came to a tragic end when a body was discovered in a lake in the village of Barnton in Cheshire. The 38-year-old disappeared in the early hours of Saturday after her family last saw her. Cheshire Police conducted extensive searches and appeals in the area before locating the body in Oakmere, believed to be that of Ms. Booth.
Although the body has not yet been formally identified, Ms. Booth’s family has been notified and is receiving support from the authorities. Police have stated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her disappearance, and a report will be prepared for the coroner. CCTV footage captured Ms. Booth at Sandiway Garage on the A556 near Northwich around 03:50 BST on Saturday, shortly before she went missing.
Search and rescue teams scoured the lake at Wild Shore Delamere as part of the investigation. The outdoor activities center, which includes a lake, temporarily closed its operations to assist in the search efforts.
